What We Do

    Surface transportation

    **************

Surface transportation is the transportation done by land resources. The two modes used for road transportation is road and rail. Road transportation are further divided into three categories: First mile, Mid mile and last mile logistics. First mile and last mile delivery generally deals with individual truck owners and local service providers whereas mid mile logistics deals with long hauling and inter-state transportation. These services can be taken on the basis of material quantity and specification. If the material is less than truck capacity part load service is economical and if the material is according to truck capacity then full truck load is the service you must opt for.

    Part truck load:

Partial or Part load (PTL) shipment means your load does not take space for a full truck. Many different shipments are kept together in a truck and transported to different shipment locations or logistics centres. In part load booking facility, you need not pay the charges for full-truck load. You will pay only for your load capacity. During part-load shipping process, the shipment can be reloaded to another truck which will arrange the delivery to consignee’s warehouse. Vehicle vary from 400 KG payload vehicle to 25 MT Payload vehicle. In Part-load freight is charged according on the basis of material quantity, weight and dimension. If material is breakable, sensitive or hazardous Part-truck load should not be used.

    Full Truck Load:

Full truckload, commonly referred to as FTL, is a type of shipping mode whereby a truck carries one dedicated shipment. In other words, the journey is reserved for one shipment only. Full Truck Load trucking has several advantages over the alternative trucking shipment mode, LTL (less than a full truckload) or part truck load shipment.

    • For shipments that are large enough to fill or nearly fill an entire shipping container, full truckloads work out cheaper.
    • Full truckloads are much less encumbered by size and weight restrictions.
    • FTL shipments get to the destination sooner, as the truck is making no other pickups or drop-offs along the way.
    • FTL transport means less handling (there is no transferring between trucks mid-transit), the shipment is unlikely to get lost or damaged.
